Welcome to Dadielte's world, a place for everyone who enjoys the world of books.

When I was young, my head was always buried in some type of reading material, a novel, short story, or magazine article. Reading was my way of escaping from my everyday existence, at least for a while. Growing up in my Harlem neighborhood, I found my world limited. School, playing with friends, watching TV were okay; however, by reading I was able to transcend my environment. Soon I began to see that books are portals to the world. I could travel to  Mars with Ray Bradbury in the Martian Chronicles, solve mysteries with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, delight in the stories of Langston Hughes and the poetry of Countee Cullen and others. I practically lived in the library and the bookstores.

Since then, I've set a goal for myself to read at least twelve books a year or one each month. For some, my sister for one, that's not many. She reads even more than me. For others, though, it's a challenge to read two books a year.   Here at Dadielte's World, I would like to share my joy of reading as well as some of my writings with you. I've included a list of books I've read and that I think you will enjoy as well. You'll find a brief biography of me including an excerpt from my preteen novel, Mrs. Griffin is Missing and Other Stories, and some reading tips on how to get the most out of whatever you are reading. So come on in, get comfortable, and lets explore the world of books.
